Rooting for the wrong team – but still a team player

Introducing our International Sales Manager, Andre Veibust!

Andre has been with us at Arctic Steel for just over a year and a half now, and we’re incredibly happy to have him and his experience on board. Throughout his career, Andre has worked in sales, bringing both routine and a wealth of experience to our team. He has previously worked in international logistics and also brings his know-how from the scrap and recycling industry.

As an International Sales Manager at Arctic Steel, Andre has his share of busy days at the office. He finds new prospects, researches new markets, and follows up with clients while always looking for the right suppliers for each project.

– My main tasks include ensuring successful projects for all clients and making sure we deliver well and on time, he says. He emphasizes that his most important task is to build trust and provide customers with the best service possible.

Planning is an important part of Andre’s work

At any time, Andre is juggling several projects in different phases with clients from all over the world. Planning is a crucial part of Andre’s work, whether he is in talks with a new client or following up on active projects.

– What I think is important in my role is to plan and always stay ahead, that way you  can foresee potential obstacles and find solutions that benefits the clients, Andre elaborates.

When asked about the best thing about working at Arctic Steel, he expressed his joy of working with customers both domestically and internationally.

– Having customers in most parts of the world with different cultures is always interesting. I like being able to contribute as much to someone with smaller needs as to someone with large needs. I think that as long as I feel we are contributing to making our customers better and more competitive, that is the best feeling any of us at Arctic Steel can have.

Love for both steel and sport

Speaking of great things, Andre does not fail to mention his favorite steel grade. As an employee of Arctic Steel, it is almost required to have a favorite kind of steel.

– I like working with steel grades that are difficult to find or have stricter requirements than usual. There’s nothing you learn more from than getting a challenge to solve, says Andre.

We are known for our love for steel, but we are also very passionate about football and sports in Bryne. Andre, of course, shares our passion, though not quite in the way we would prefer.

– I am right at the edge of what is sensible to say out loud here in Jæren – as it is the big brother in the county, Viking FK, that I religiously support and attend every match. Of course, Mondays are always interesting when you have complete opposites in the office. Teasing and friendly banter characterize the start of each week – that’s how it should be!
