Arctic Steel Acquires Prosessmetall AS in Bergen

Arctic Steel is acquiring Prosessmetall AS. The Bergen-based company established in 1987 delivers specialty steel to the Norwegian market as well as to several international markets.

Jonas Bolstad Scheie, CEO of Arctic Steel, shared his thoughts on the acquisition:

– Arctic Steel is steadily growing, and we see great potential in the well-established Prosessmetall. We are looking forward to working with new suppliers and customers.

Prosessmetall has developed a strong network of suppliers and a reliable customer base over the years. The company specializes in supplying specialty steel to various industries, catering to both onshore and offshore needs across different parts of the world. After 37 years in operation, the time has come for Prosessmetall to transition to new ownership as its current Managing Director, Bjørn Gjelseng, plans for retirement.

– I’m satisfied that Arctic Steel will be taking over. They have a similar service offering and are well-positioned to manage the portfolio we have built up, says Gjelseng.

Bjørn Gjelseng brings a wealth of experience to the table, having spent nearly 50 years in the industry. His career has spanned various roles across multiple continents, providing him with a deep understanding of the global steel and equipment market. Over the years, Bjørn has navigated complex international operations and developed significant expertise in managing supplier relationships, logistics, and customer service.

In the coming months, Gjelseng will assist with the transition to ensure continuity for both suppliers and customers. This period will also provide an opportunity for sharing experience and knowledge between Gjelseng and the Arctic Steel team.
